Devil's On The Run

Last updated: 2025-10-06 08:05:21

[Verse 1]
Devil on the run
He’s a wicked beast
Tried to take me down
But he lost his feast
He kicked me hard
Left me buried deep
But I rose in grace
While he lost his keep

[Verse 2]
In my darkest night
I forgot the gift I had
He pulled me low
Told me lies and made me mad
But even in the pit
Jesus called my name
Now I walk in light
I’m not the same

[Pre-Chorus]
Don’t be fooled
By the snake in the weeds
He don’t care
‘Bout your hope or your needs
He can’t give life
Only takes what you earn
He’ll torch it all
Just to watch it burn

[Chorus]
Now I rise, now I run
By the power of the Son
But the Devil is a liar
He’s Done!!
Ain’t no grace where he’s from
Tried to steal, tried to kill
But my soul he couldn’t take
Devil’s on the run
‘Cause I’m saved by grace

[Verse 3]
Chains are gone
Yeah, the stone rolled back
He lost the war
On a bloodstained track
Truth is fire
And the lie won’t stand
I’m a child of God
With a sword in my hand

[Chorus – repeat]
Now I rise, now I run
By the power of the Son
But the Devil is a liar
He’s Done!!
Ain’t no grace where he’s from
Tried to steal, tried to kill
But my soul he couldn’t take
Devil’s on the run
‘Cause I’m saved by grace

[Bridge – Breakdown / Call & Response]
Oh the blood!
Oh the Lamb!
Crushed the devil
With a mighty hand
Ain’t no grave!
Gonna hold me down!
I’ve been bought
And I wear the crown
You can growl
You can scream
But you can’t run
From the King
Devil’s on the run—
He lost everything

[Final Chorus – Tag out strong]
Now I rise, now I run
By the power of the Son
But the Devil is a liar
He’s Done!!
Ain’t no grace where he’s from
Tried to steal, tried to kill
But my soul he couldn’t take
Devil’s on the run
Yeah, the devil’s on the run
Jesus won — and I’m saved by grace

Now I rise, now I run
By the power of the Son
But the Devil is a liar
He’s Done!!
Ain’t no grace where he’s from
Tried to steal, tried to kill
But my soul he couldn’t take
Devil’s on the run
Yeah, the devil’s on the run
Jesus won — and I’m saved by grace

Why Didn’t You Tell Me About Jesus

Song:

Verse 1
We were neighbors all those years
Shared the laughter, shared the tears
You had peace I never knew
But you never said what carried you

Verse 2
We would greet the New Year’s light
Holidays felt warm and bright
You stood by me when grief was near
With something deeper holding fear

Chorus
Why didn’t you tell me about Jesus?
Why didn’t you speak of His name?
You offered your kindness, your time, and your care
But never the heart of your flame
You smiled when the storm didn’t cease
You walked with a holy peace
Why didn’t you tell me about Jesus?

Verse 3
Maybe our love was growing slow
Rooted deep where words don’t go
We would talk of dreams and age
But never turned the final page

Verse 4
Every Sunday you would leave
With a calm I can’t conceive
I watched you go, but never knew
The One who quietly shaped you

Chorus
Why didn’t you tell me about Jesus?
Why didn’t you speak of His name?
You offered your kindness, your time, and your care
But never the heart of your flame
You smiled when the storm didn’t cease
You walked with a holy peace
Why didn’t you tell me about Jesus?

Bridge
Were you waiting for the day
When I’d ask or find my way?
Did you think I wouldn’t see
The light you carried silently?

Final Chorus
Now I walk through years behind
With your memory on my mind
If only you’d told me what gave you your song—
The place where your soul did belong
That love you could never release
The source of your quiet peace
Why didn’t you tell me about Jesus?

Outro (soft and prayerful)
I might have asked Him to show me the way
But I wish you’d told me that day…

The Lord is My Shepherd

Rest in the Shepherd’s Care

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” – Psalm 23:1 (NIV)

In a world that constantly tells us we need more—more success, more stuff, more strength—Psalm 23 begins with a profound counter-message: “I lack nothing.” Why? Because the Lord is our Shepherd. He isn’t distant or disinterested. He is personal, present, and deeply invested in our well-being.

When life feels overwhelming, God offers rest: green pastures for our weary souls and quiet waters to calm our anxious minds. He doesn’t just patch us up—He restores us. He leads us, not with pressure or panic, but with purpose, guiding us on the right path for His glory, not ours.

But even in the darkest valleys—the hospital rooms, the heartbreaks, the battles we never chose—He walks with us. His presence is our protection. His rod and staff, symbols of both discipline and defense, bring us comfort, not fear.

And then, something beautiful happens. God doesn’t just lead us through trouble—He prepares a feast for us in the presence of it. Right there, in front of enemies and fears, He honors and blesses us. Our cup isn’t just filled—it overflows.

Psalm 23 ends with a promise: goodness and love will pursue us every day, and our forever home is secure in His presence.

Today, pause and let that truth wash over you. You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You are not lacking.

You are shepherded.

Prayer:

Lord,
Thank You for being my Shepherd.
In every moment—whether peaceful or painful—You are near.
Lead me beside still waters when life feels rushed.
Restore my soul when I am weary.
Even in dark valleys, help me trust that You walk with me.
Let Your goodness and love surround me today,
and remind me that I am always safe in Your care.
Amen.

Psalm 23 (NIV)

1
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Song;

Verse 1
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not fear,
He leads me to pastures where waters are clear.
He gives me new strength when my spirit is low,
And shows me the pathway where his mercy flows.

Chorus
You are with me, I’m never alone,
In the darkest valley, Your light is shown.
Your rod and staff bring peace to my soul,
You spread out a table and feed me full
Surely Your goodness will follow my days,
And I will abide in your warmth always

Verse 2
Though shadows may gather and trials descend,
I trust in Your protection that will not end.
My cup overflows with blessings untold,
You crown me with favor, my heart made bold.

Chorus
You are with me, I’m never alone,
In the darkest valley, Your light is shown.
Your rod and staff bring peace to my soul,
You spread out a table and feed me full
Surely Your goodness will follow my days,
And I will abide in your warmth always

Bridge
In Your dwelling I’ll sing evermore,
Safe in the arms I was made for.
Peace like a river flows through my pain,
Love everlasting, in You I remain.

Final Chorus
You are with me, I’m never alone,
In the darkest valley, Your light is shown.
Your rod and staff bring peace to my soul,
You spread out a table and feed me full
Surely Your goodness will follow my days,
And I will abide in your warmth always

Forever I’ll dwell in the house of the Lord—
Shepherd of my soul, I am Yours.

Congregational Prayer of Blessing, Praise, and Renewal

Song: Lord, We Lift Our Hearts – Acappella Choir

Song: Lord, We Lift Our Hearts – An Acappella Vocal Band

Song: Lord, We Lift Our Hearts – Duet Vocal

Almighty God, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer,
We come before You today with hearts full of praise and adoration. You are the One who spoke the universe into being, the Sovereign King over all creation. You are holy, mighty, and worthy of all glory and honor. We lift Your name high, for You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Your love endures forever, and Your faithfulness continues through all generations.

Heavenly Father, we gather in Your presence as Your children, each carrying our own burdens, hopes, and prayers. You see us, Lord, just as we are, and You meet us with a love and compassion that never fails. You are the God who knows us intimately and cares for us deeply.

Today, we lift up those among us who are facing sickness. Lord, we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon them, bringing strength to their bodies, peace to their minds, and comfort to their spirits. For those who care for the sick, we pray for endurance, wisdom, and grace as they serve with love and dedication.

We also intercede for those struggling with loss—whether it be the loss of jobs, financial security, or loved ones. Lord, be their provider, their peace, and their comfort. Open doors of opportunity for those in need, and remind them that You are the God who sees and provides. For the grieving, surround them with Your love, and let them find solace in Your promises.

We thank You, Father, for the servants among us—those who give selflessly, reflecting Your light through their actions. Bless them abundantly, strengthen them for the tasks You have set before them, and fill their hearts with the joy of serving in Your name.

In the midst of trials, we pause to thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness. Even when life feels uncertain, You remain our solid rock. Thank You for the gift of grace through Christ, for the hope we have in Your promises, and for the assurance that You are always with us.

Lord, as we enter this time of communion and tribute to the Lord’s Supper, we beseech You to hear our worship on this day. Let it rise as a fragrant offering before You. May You be pleased with the way we worship, with the words of our mouths, the meditations of our hearts, and the unity of our fellowship. Transform our hearts as we remember the ultimate sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His body and shed His blood for our salvation.

May our worship honor You, and may our hearts be renewed by Your Spirit. Draw us closer to You, and fill this place with Your holy presence.

We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
