You Can’t Shake the Faith Outta Me

Country style duet

Devotional: You Can’t Shake the Faith Outta Me

There are seasons when faith isn’t loud or polished — it’s simply stubborn.
It keeps showing up when circumstances try to wear it thin. It stands when words, rules, or disappointments try to tell you who you are.

Faith like that isn’t rooted in approval or platform.
It’s rooted in grace.

You may feel shaken — by people, by systems, by loss, by misunderstanding — but being shaken is not the same as being uprooted. When your faith is planted in Christ, it runs deeper than the storm.

The doors may close. The ground may move.
But what God has written into you cannot be erased.

You can’t shake the faith outta someone whose hope is anchored in Him.

Scripture

Romans 8:38–39 (NIV)

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Prayer

Lord,
When life shakes what feels familiar, anchor me in what is eternal.
When voices grow loud and clarity feels distant, remind me who I am in You.
Let my faith run deeper than fear, stronger than doubt, and steadier than circumstance.
I choose to stand — not in my strength, but in Your grace.
Amen.

Song Lyrics:

VERSE 1
I’ve walked through fire with my name on the line
Felt the weight of words that were never kind
I tried to give my heart, I gave all I had
But sometimes grace feels like a door slammed back
I’ve been bruised by noise and well-meant talk
By rules and reasons that don’t always walk
But I know who I am and whose hands I’m in
And I didn’t come this far just to quit again

PRE-CHORUS
They can shake the ground, try to wear me thin
But there’s a fire in my bones they can’t put out again

CHORUS
You can try to drag me down, say I don’t belong
You can call it wisdom, you can say I’m wrong
But I’ve been bought by grace, I’ve been set free
You can’t shake the faith outta me
Yeah the devil tried to pull me from the church
Tried to bury my hope in the weight of the hurt
But the doors may close, still I believe
You can’t shake the faith outta me

VERSE 2
I’ve seen love wear a thousand faces
Heard truth whispered low in broken places
I’ve learned faith ain’t always a perfect song
Sometimes it’s just standing when everything’s gone
I won’t trade my hope for a quieter life
Won’t silence my praise just to keep things nice
I’ll keep showing up with these scars I wear
‘Cause resurrection never comes from playing scared

PRE-CHORUS
I’ve been knocked down hard, but I’m still on my feet
There’s a hallelujah rising up in me

BRIDGE
I am not my past
I am not my pain
I am not the shame they tried to put on my name
I am rooted deep
I am standing tall
I’m still here when the walls fall

FINAL CHORUS
You can try to drag me down, but I won’t bend
I’ve been held by mercy again and again
This is holy ground inside of me
You can’t shake the faith outta me
Yeah the storm can rage, yeah the night can be long
But my hope runs deeper than the fear and the wrong
I’ll keep lifting my voice, I’ll keep believing
You can’t shake the faith outta me

OUTRO
I’ll keep loving loud
I’ll keep walking true
I’ll keep choosing grace even when it’s hard to
You can shake the walls, but my heart is free
You can’t shake the faith outta me
